You don't have to rely on just clothes to set your personal style. Try accessories, too. Some people are known by their signature hoop earrings, gold brooch or Chanel scarf. That particular piece becomes a part of her, part of her personal style. Pick an accessory you love and run with it -- cocktail rings, bangle bracelets, scarves, flats -- something that people see and immediately think of you. Just don't make it too outrageous. The accessory you choose should be something you can wear just about every day -- bold enough to give your look a unique flair, but not so bizarre that it sticks out like a sore thumb. It's tough to establish a unique style if you're wearing the same clothes as the person sitting next to you. Having your own style means standing out from the crowd a bit. So how do you do this? If you want to shop the stores, you're limited to what's within driving distance. But with online shopping, your shopping borders are boundless. And many online stores even offer free returns. If you'd rather shop around town than online, stick with the smaller boutiques or even vintage and consignment shops. You can find some really good deals and feel secure knowing you're buying something that nobody else is likely to have. Just that in itself will help you to establish a unique style. If you're really lucky, you'll find one great piece and several accessories you can use as the building blocks for your look. For example, there's nothing wrong with wearing the same plain white tee everyone else has, if you accompany it with a great vintage cardigan and fun brooch from a local boutique.|A Miami restaurant cashier checks out a customer amid a counter with signs for food delivery services DoorDash and Uber Eats. During the height of the COVID pandemic, when in-person dining was shut down in most states, both restaurants and consumers turned to food delivery apps as a lifeline. Apps like DoorDash. Uber Eats exploded in popularity. From January through September 2020, DoorDash alone recorded 543 million orders compared to just 181 million orders during the same period in 2019, The New York Times reported. For restaurants, the popularity and convenience of food delivery apps provided a much-needed revenue source to keep the lights on until the lockdown orders were lifted. For workers who lost jobs during the shutdown, and students who were sent home from college, a part-time job as a food delivery driver was seen as a flexible way to earn some extra cash. But now that the pandemic is (fingers crossed) behind us and restaurants are fully open in most American cities, there are lots of folks - including economists, investors and workers' rights advocates - who are questioning the viability and ethics of the food delivery business model.
Other chemical reactions result in black spots and fogging (a white and blue-tinted haze) that can cause the image to deteriorate from beyond recognition to no longer visible, or completely obscured. But luckily, there's more to this picture than meets the eye: Science to the rescue! An interdisciplinary team of researchers from Canada's University of Western Ontario, the Photography Institute at the National Gallery of Canada and the Canadian Light Source (CLS), using facilities at the Cornell High Energy Synchrotron Source (CHESS) conducted a detailed analysis of the chemical changes that degrade and potentially destroy daguerreotypes. Their study, published June 22, 2018, in Scientific Reports, reveals that by looking at the mercury content of individual daguerreotypes, researchers can retrieve some images in great detail. What they found was that in some cases, even the images on severely tarnished daguerreotypes can be recovered. Using scanning X-ray fluorescence (XRF) to determine the elemental makeup of the daguerreotype surface, the team discovered that the mercury distribution alone, as retrieved by scanning XRF, closely reproduces the original image and isn't affected by certain kinds of degradation tarnishing. Because mercury is the major element that comprises the images, even though the surface of the daguerreotype is tarnished, the image particles remain intact. The XRF method is noninvasive and doesn't touch the fragile surface of the daguerreotype or alter it in any way. That's great news for museum curators, conservationists, scholars and historians who seek to preserve the world's earliest photographic cultural artifacts. And it's a fly in the face of immortality for the 19th-century mercurial ghosts who lie latent on tarnished, silver-coated copper plates, waiting to be unforgotten. Seventeen years before Louis Daguerre honed the technique of daguerreotype photography, he invented the diorama, a moving spectacle that featured two colossal paintings lit from the front and through the back inside an otherwise completely dark revolving auditorium.
All Realtors are real estate agents, but not all licensed real estate agents are Realtors. Realtors adhere to a stricter code of ethics than state-licensed real estate agents. The NAR also requires that Realtors complete more continuing education than many states require. When it comes to selecting an agent, the fact that Realtors are accountable to the National Association of Realtors, as well as state licensing boards, can protect you as a seller. Before hiring one, you should conduct an in-depth interview with three or four. Call ahead and make appointments, letting each agent know that you would like to see a comparative market analysis (CMA) for your house, and a list of their most recent sales (sometimes called an "activity list"). Do some research into the real estate market in your city before you meet with the agents. At the meeting, the agent should present their CMA, a suggested market value for your house based on recent comparable sales.|“Putin has just launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Peaceful Ukrainian cities are under strikes. This is a war of aggression. Ukraine will defend itself and will win,” Ukraine’s foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba said in a tweet early Thursday local time. “The world can. Must stop Putin. U.S. President Joe Biden said he “condemned this unprovoked and unjustified attack by Russian military forces,” in a post on Twitter. “President Putin has chosen a premeditated war that will bring a catastrophic loss of life and human suffering. Russia alone is responsible for the death and destruction this attack will bring and the United States and its Allies and partners will respond in a united and decisive way,” he said in a separate statement released by the White House. Biden also said in a tweet that he spoke to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky late Wednesday night Eastern. “He asked me to call on the leaders of the world to speak out clearly against President Putin’s flagrant aggression, and to stand with the people of Ukraine,” he said. Biden will meet with G-7 leaders later on Thursday and said the U.S. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he has also spoken to Zelensky to discuss next steps. “President Putin has chosen a path of bloodshed and destruction by launching this unprovoked attack on Ukraine,” he said.
